Point Wilson Lighthouse

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 7, 2025, because the Point Wilson Lighthouse and the United States Lighthouse Society (USLHS) are throwing a Celebration of the Light — and you’re invited! From 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, we’ll be gathering at the lighthouse to mark a major milestone: the restoration and relighting of the original 1894 Fresnel lens!
Lighthouses have served as critical navigational aids and symbols of safety throughout American history. Returning this Fresnel lens to service represents our commitment to preserving these historic structures and their technological innovations for future generations.
What’s Happening at the Celebration?
- Live music from local favorites Cold Comfort, Marco Marco, and Afterlife Gift Shop
- Food and drinks available for purchase (come hungry!)
- Raffles and games for all ages
- Guided tours of the lighthouse, including a close-up look at the newly restored lens
- Educational displays sharing the fascinating history of maritime navigation and lighthouse technology
Admission is completely free! (But if you feel inspired to make a donation, every dollar goes toward continuing the preservation work at Point Wilson Lighthouse.)
